Epic Journey: Part 13

HI! Welcome back! Always glad to have you drop by for a chat :) Lulz >.<

Things have been going pretty well around here. Still havin fun with the Zoo internship, though, I believe my time is almost up. Two quarters is kind of a long time for an internship... most are only for one. Gotta start getting my presentation together. It's mid-term week at school so I know my time is going fast!
I'm fairly certain that THIS little guy is gonna be a star of the show!

Speakin of school and terms... When this one started they made the "achievement announcements" and gave out awards and stuff for last quarter. You know, stuff like perfect attendance, Honor Roll, Dean's list...
HOORAY!

This quarter has been fun so far :D I'm liking the video class. We work as groups because of limited equipment and that has been FANTASTIC!! It's been a busy class so far. Each week we are given 2 assignments. One is class work and the other is homework. We made our own music video a couple weeks ago. That was a FUN assignment! Wish I could share it with you here, but the MP3 I used trips the copyright alarm and it won't let me post it. Bob Marley doesn't make any $ off it so I'm not allowed to use it. Ah well... it is what it is **shrug**

Sad T_T

.....getting over it......

DONE!

Moving on...

We get these beautiful little pink/white flowers every Spring. I asked at the Zoo and the lady said they are called "Rain Lily". They pop up after  the first couple big storms of Spring. This year I made it a point to get a few pictures. Only difference was that we never did get our Spring storms... When we finally got rain it was late June!  Either way, I still got what I wanted :) Here's the best one -

Did a couple portrait sessions for Portfolio class. I was really lucky in that my people made it real easy on me both times! ^_^ Thanks again Kim, John, and Chris! You were GREAT!

Since the A/C broke a month ago we have had the windows open. It's been an average of 105˚F for the last 3 weeks. It's been hot and humid and there has been no rain. This means when a critter is thirsty it will go wherever it can to get a drink. This one went right through an open window and into my bathroom to drink from the sink and decided to chill for a while on my freakin toothbrush! I was sooo mad! It was a new brush! GAAHHH!! What's worse is that before I could get back with my camera the OTHER FLY left! >.< At least I got a disturbing picture out of the ordeal.....

The other class I'm enjoying this quarter is Black and White Photography.
I think I'd like to get this one printed... I like it!

Ninja class is rockin as always... We got our yellow stripes and should be testing again in a couple weeks to get the yellow BELT. They have testing like every month or so. We weren't testing in the last one so I stuck around after class and took some pics of the event. It was tough and I learned a LOT!! plus I get to kind of use that to my advantage - MARKETING!! I printed a few copies for the people in the pics and put my watermark on them. Plus I finally got my business cards so I stuck one of those in with the pictures. If all works according to plan I should be able to give those out this Friday. Hooray again!

Sadly, I have no new shots of the garden... With the drought and aphids there it little left to be seen anyway... Once I get it all cleaned up again I can start planning for a Winter garden which should do a LOT better than the Summer one did. Still getting tomatoes off one of the bushes and the basil and habanero seem to like it out there so all is not lost!! LOL

We had our 10-year anniversary a couple weeks ago. Kept it kinda low-key. Had an AMAZING sushi dinner at Matsu. It was a great night!

Lookin forward to the next few weeks... Maybe I'll even get around to doing another post a little earlier so it won't be so long next time... We'll see!!

.......until then

<3
